Ze Lan is acrid to move the qi and blood, bitter to detoxify and drain, and it is slightly warm to treat cold related patterns. It enters the liver and spleen systems. Its edema function is used with patients that have postpartum edema or for patients with facial edema.

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL POSSIBILITIES:

Contraindications: do not prescribe Ze Lan to patients that are pregnant
