CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Constipation
Fan Xie Ye is sweet, bitter, and cold. It enters the large intestine system to move out patterns of heat that result in constipation. According to the Bensky team it is stronger that Da Huang in its ability to drain downward and is sometimes used together with it.
Channels: large intestine
COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL POSSIBILITIES:
- Acute constipation
- Abdominal distention
- Edema
Contraindications: Fan Xie Ye should not be prescribed in high amounts to patients that have a weak constitution, it should not be prescribed to patients that are pregnant, are breast feeding, or to patients that have a history of excessive bleeding
