CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS: -Impotence -Due to deficiency of yang

Kidney yang, in Oriental Medicine, largely refers to hormone production from the adrenal glands and the gonads. It is used for patients with conditions such as infertility (male or female), erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, and irregular menstrual patterns.

Its sweet characteristic makes it tonifying. As a result of improving hormone production, this herb also strengthens tendons, ligaments, and improves bone remodeling.

Ba Ji Tian is acrid which gives it a scattering or moving quality. It circulates blood in the low back driving out spasms and tension for patients suffering low back pain, especially when the pain is from a cold pattern as this herb has a warm quality.

Contraindications: do not prescribe Ba Ji Tian to patients that present with heat patterns due to damp heat or deficiency heat, do not combine with Dan Shen
