Xiao Mao is hot and toxic. The acrid property scatters the cold and circulates the blood. Because it is hot it is very useful for stubborn cold patterns especially of the low back. It can also be used for infertility when the womb is cold.
Xiao Mao enters the kidney and improves sex hormone regulation from the adrenal glands and gonads. However, it is toxic and should only be used for short periods of time.
