Bai Zhi is acrid and warm. It enters the lung, stomach, and spleen systems. Bai Zhi breaks up cold and cold-damp patterns to disperse and eliminate them. In this way it has an antimicrobial and detoxifying effect.
Bai Zhi can be used in the treatment of common colds but also for sores filled with pus (dampness) and vaginal discharge with the origin is damp-cold.
