Chuan Lian Zi is bitter, slightly toxic, and cold. It enters the small intestine, stomach, liver, and bladder systems.
Chuan Lian Zi has an important effect on the function of the liver. It treats such patterns as bulging disorders, liver overacting on stomach, and flank pain related to liver dysfunction.
Its antiparasitic property is noted in particular for treatment of roundworms and tapeworms.
