CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:

Chi Shi Zhi binds up the intestines and stops diarrhea when the pathomechanism is a cold deficiency pattern (yang deficiency). There might be mucus in the stool and typically the stool has undigested food from hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid) and poor pancreatic enzyme production (spleen digestive functions). Also used for blood in the stool when caused by spleen not controlling the blood or for excess uterine bleeding from the same pattern.

Chi Shi Zhi be used topically to stop bleeding when there is a trauma and has wound healing qualities.
