# Zi Su Ye

### Perilla Folium

_acrid, aromatic, warm_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Release the Exterior for Cold Attack**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Chills
- Fever
- Nasal congestion
- Headache
- Chest fullness
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Poor appetite
- Blood stagnation
- Restless fetus
- Morning sickness

Zi Su Ye is acrid, aromatic, and warm. It enters the spleen and
lung system to treat conditions of the digestive systems such as
nausea and morning sickness and it treats exterior cold attack.

**Channels:** lung, spleen

- Seafood poisoning
- Nausea
- Indigestion
- Headache
- Common cold
- Abdominal distention
- Nasal congestion
- Fever
- Threatened miscarriage

**Formulas:**
- Ban Xia Hou Po Tang
- Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San
- Mu Xiang Liu Qi Yin
- Su Zi Jiang Qi Tang
- Xiang Su San
- Xing Su San
- Zheng Qi Tian Xiang San

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Zi Su Ye to patients that
present with pathogenic diseases that are warm in nature
