# Zi Hua Di Ding

### Violae Herba

_acrid, bitter, cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Clears Heat and Resolves Toxicity**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Red swollen eyes
- Swollen ears
- Sore throat
- Snake bites
- Sores

Zi Hua Di Ding enters the liver and the heart systems. It is bitter
to drain down and out while at the same time it is acrid to break
up and cold for heat patterns.

**Channels:** heart, liver

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- Mumps
- Fever
- Antimicrobial
- Snake bites
- Infections of the skin
- Breast abscess
- Scrofula
- Appendicitis

**Formulas:**
- Wu Wei Xiao Du Yin

**Contraindications:** prescribe Zi Hua Di Ding cautiously with
patients that have yin-type sores
