# Zhi Mu

### Anemarrhenae Rhizoma

_bitter, sweet, cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

- Dysglycemia

Zhi Mu is bitter, sweet, and cold to nourish the yin and treat
deficiency heat patterns. It enters the lung, stomach, and kidney
systems. It treat cough when the presentation is thick yellow
expectoration.

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Zhi Mu to patients that
present with poor digestive function or diarrhea
