# Zhi Fu Zi

### Aconiti Radix Lateralis preparata

_acrid, hot, toxic_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Warm the Interior and Expel Cold**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Diarrhea
- Chills
- Cold extremities
- Faint pulse
- Heart weakness
- Spleen weakness
- Kidney yang deficiency
- Pain

Zhi Fu Zi is acrid, toxic, and hot. It enters the heart, spleen, and
kidney systems. Zhi Fu Zi is used when yang is severely
compromised or when there are cold patterns blocking function
and flow of qi and blood.

**Channels:** heart, spleen, kidney

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Zhi Fu Zi to pregnant
patients or patients that present with true heat false cold
patterns or patients that have significant heat patterns from
deficiency, do not combine with Wu Gong
