# Yu Zhu

### Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma

_sweet, slightly cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Tonify Yin**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Cough
- Dry throat
- Irritability
- Thirst
- Bone pain
- Dysglycemia
- Increased hunger
- Constipation
- Soft tissue spasms
- Dizziness

Yu Zhu is sweet and slightly cold. It enters the stomach and lung
systems to treat deficiency heat patterns.

POSSIBILITIES:
- Dizziness
- Dysglycemia
- Constipation
- Fever
- Cough
- Irritability
- Dyslipidemia

**Formulas:**
- Jia Jian Wei Rui Tang
- Sha Shen Mai Dong Tang
- Yi Wei Tang

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Yu Zhu to patients with
poor digestive function with related loose stools
