# Yu Jin

### Curcumae Radix

_acrid, bitter, cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Circulate Blood**_

- Chronic sores
- Chest pain
- Flank pain
- Abdominal pain
- Menstrual pain
- Epistaxis
- Vomiting blood
- Bloody urine
- Anxiety
- Irritability
- Seizures
- Jaundice
- Biliary congestion

Yu Jin is bitter to drain and detoxify, acrid to disperse and move
qi and blood, and cold to treat heat related patterns. It enters the
liver, heart, and lung systems.

Yu Jin’s relationship to the heart system allows it to treat
emotional agitation. Its lung properties allows it to treat epistaxis.
The liver function acts on the gallbladder and can treat menstrual
related blood stagnation issues as well as jaundice.

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Yu Jin to patients that
are pregnant, Yu Jin counteracts with Ding Xiang
