# Yin Chai Hu

### Stellariae Radix

_sweet, slightly cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Clear Deficiency Heat**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Bone pain
- Fever
- Thirst
- Irritability
- Childhood malnutrition

Yin Chai Hu is sweet and slightly cold. It enters the liver and
stomach systems to treat heat related patterns due to deficiency of
yin.

It can treat childhood malnutrition and related irritability due to
heat accumulation.

**Channels:** liver, stomach

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- Fever
- Bleeding disorders
- Malarial disorders
- Night sweats

**Formulas:**
- Qing Gu San

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Yin Chai Hu to patients
that have blood deficiency patterns without heat signs
