# Xuan Fu Hua

### Inulae Flos

_acrid, bitter, salty, warm_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Transform Cold Phlegm**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESATIONS:
- Cough
- Vomiting
- Hiccough
- Belching

Xuan Fu Hua is bitter, acrid, salty, and slightly warm. It enters the
lung, liver, spleen, and stomach systems. Its effect can be seen on
both the lungs for cough and in the digestive tract for nausea and
vomit.

**Channels:** lung, stomach, liver, spleen

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Cough
- Wheeze
- Asthma
- Hiccough

**Formulas:**
- Xuan Fu Dai Zhe Shi Tang

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Xuan Fu Hua to patients
that present with deficiency dry cough
