# Xing Ren

### Armeniacae Semen

_bitter, slightly warm, slightly toxic_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Relieve Cough and Wheeze**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Cough

Xing Ren is bitter, slightly toxic, and slightly warm. It enters the
lung and large intestine systems. To treat cough.
As a seed, Xing Ren is also useful to lubricate the intestines for
treating constipation.

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Xing Ren to patients
with patterns due to deficiency of yin
