# Xi Xian Cao

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Dispel Wind-Dampness**_

- Weakness of the lower limbs

Xi Xian Cao is bitter and cold. It enters the liver and kidney
systems to move hot liver related swelling such as joint pain. Its
cold and bitter properties reduce yang rising conditions such as
hypertension, dizziness, and headache. This calming effect also
helps irritability, anxiety, and insomnia as it works on balancing
the kidney hormones. It is likely the kidney function that
strengthens weak tendons, ligaments, and bones.
