# Wu Zhu Yu

### Evodiae Fructus

_acrid, bitter, hot, slightly toxic_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Warm the Interior and Expel Cold**_

- Epigastric pain
- Nausea
- Drooling
- Reduction in taste
- Pale tongue
- Wiry pulse
- Weak pulse
- Cold bulging disorders
- Dysmenorrhea
- Acid reflux
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Edema
- Tongue sores
- Mouth sores

Wu Zhu Yu is acrid, bitter, slightly toxic, and hot. It enters the
liver, stomach, and spleen systems to break up cold patterns.

**Channels:** liver, stomach, spleen

- Edema

**Formulas:**
- Ai Fu Nuan Gong Wan
- Shu Gan Tang
- Si Shen Wan
- Wen Jing Tang
- Wu Zhu Yu Tang
- Xiang Lian Wan
- Zuo Jin Wan

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Wu Zhu Yu to patients
that present with heat patterns due to deficiency, do not combine
with Dan Shen or Zi Shi Ying
