# Tan Xiang

### Santali albi Lignum

_acrid, aromatic, warm_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Regulate Qi**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Nausea
- Belching
- Chest pain
- Abdominal pain
- Coronary artery disease

Tan Xiang is acrid, aromatic, and warm. It enters the spleen,
stomach, and lung systems to move and regulate qi.
It has been used to treat angina pain and coronary artery disease.

**Channels:** lung, stomach, spleen

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- Gastrointestinal tract disorders
- Angina pain
- Belching
- Vomiting
- Hiatal hernia

**Formulas:**
- Dan Shen Yin
- Su He Xiang Wan

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Tan Xiang to patients
that present with fire due to deficiency patterns
