# Suo Yang

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

- Constipation

Suo Yang is sweet and warm and enters the liver, kidney, and
large intestine systems. Its moistening effect helps for patients
with constipation while its yang tonifying effect improves sexual
function and strengthens tendons and ligaments.

Suo Yang also helps patients that suffer impaired ability to walk
due to yang deficient stiff and brittle tendons and ligaments.

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Suo Yang to patients
that present with deficiency heat patterns, spleen deficiency
related diarrhea, or constipation from heat
