# Sha Ren

### Amomi Fructus

_acrid, warm, aromatic_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Aromatic Herb that Transforms Dampness**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Digestive tract disorders
 - Poor appetite
 - Abdominal distention
 - Epigastric distention
 - Diarrhea
 - Vomiting
 - Morning sickness
- Restless fetus

Sha Ren is acrid, aromatic, and warm. It enters the spleen and
stomach channels to treat disorders involving dampness. Its effect
is primarily on the gastrointestinal tract but it can also be used to
prevent miscarriage.

**Channels:** spleen, stomach

POSSIBILITIES:
- Threatened miscarriage
- Abdominal distention
- Indigestion
- IBS
- Diarrhea
- Morning sickness

- Bu Shen Gu Chong Wan
- Chen Xiang Jiang Qi Tang
- Dan Shen Yin
- Ge Hua Jie Cheng San
- Jian Pi Wan
- Shen Ling Bai Zhu San
- Tai Shan Pan Shi San
- Xiang Sha Liu Jun Zi Tang
- Xiang Sha Yang Wei Tang

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Sha Ren to patients that
present with deficiency heat patterns
