# Sang Shen

### Mori Fructus

_sweet, cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Tonify Blood**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Tinnitus
- Insomnia
- Premature grey hair
- Dysglycemia
- Constipation

Sang Shen is sweet and cold to treat heat related patterns
especially from deficiency. It enters the liver, kidney, and heart
systems. Sang Shen has a yin tonifying effect and is especially
useful for the elderly.

**Channels:** heart, liver, kidney

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- Sleep disorders
- Dry hard stool
- Poor vision
- Dry eyes
- Thirst
- Hypertension

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Sang Shen to patients
presenting with diarrhea due to spleen yang deficiency patterns
