# Rou Dou Kou

### Myristicae Semen

_acrid, warm_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Stabilize and Bind**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Chronic diarrhea
- Epigastric pain
- Abdominal distention
- Reduced appetite
- Vomiting
- Stabilize and Bind

Rou Dou Kou is acrid which gives it a qi moving function and it
works on the gastrointestinal tract. Its warming function supports
spleen yang which collectively includes stomach production of
hydrochloric acid and pancreatic secretion of enzymes.

**Channels:** spleen, stomach, large intestine

POSSIBILITIES:
- Increased pancreatic secretions
 - Enzymes
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Hallucinogenic
- Indigestion

**Formulas:**
- Fei Er Wan
- Jian Pi Wan
- Si Shen Wan
- Zhen Ren Yang Zang Tang

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe to patients that already
have heat in the stomach (as this herb is warm) or patients that
present with diarrhea due to heat patterns
