# Qian Hu

### Peucedani Radix

_acrid, bitter, slightly cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

- Headache

Qian Hu is bitter, acrid, and slightly cold. It enters the lung system
to help with cough and wheeze when treating heat related
patterns.

**Channels:** lung

POSSIBILITIES:
- Cough
- Diaphragmatic spasms
- Vasodilation
- Allergies

**Formulas:**
- Ren Shen Bai Du San
- Su Zi Jiang Qi Tang
- Xing Su San

**Contraindications:** do prescribe Qian Hu to patients if the
cough has originated from deficiency fire patterns
