# Mu Zei

### Equiseti Hiemalis Herba

_bitter, sweet, neutral_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Release the Exterior for Heat Attacks**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Eye disorders
 - Cloudy eyes
 - Blurred vision
 - Pterygium
 - Excess lacrimation
 - Red painful eyes
- Hemafecia
- Hemorrhoids

Mu Zei is bitter, sweet, and neutral. It enters the lung, liver, and
gallbladder systems.

**Channels:** lung, liver, gallbladder

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- Rectal prolapse
- Hemafecia
- Cataracts
- Antitumor

**Contraindications:** Mu Zei should be used cautiously when
prescribing to patients that are pregnant or that present with qi
deficiency, urinary frequency, or dehydration
