# Lu Gen

### Phragmitis Rhizoma

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Clear Heat and Drain Fire**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Irascibility
- Thirst
- High fever
- Dark scanty urine
- Hematuria
- Rashes
- Nausea

Lu Gen is sweet and cold. It enters the stomach and lung systems
to treat heat pathogens. It is an important herb in the treatment of
cold and flu and has strong antimicrobial properties.

Lu Gen can be used for rashes that are incompletely expressed.

**Contraindications:** prescribe Lu Gen with caution to patients
that present with poor digestive function
