# Long Gu

Long Gu enters the liver, heart, and kidney systems. It is sweet,
astringent, and neutral. Its effect on the liver treats restlessness,
irritability, and dizziness.

Long Gu also has astringent properties that reduce kidney related
decline manifesting as conditions such as spermatorrhea, night
sweat, nocturnal emissions, and vaginal discharge.
It can also be used topically for sores and ulcerations.

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Long Gu to patients that
have damp heat due to its astringent property, do not prescribe
to patients with external excess patterns
