# Ling Yang Jiao

### Saigae Tataricae Cornu

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

- Eye disorders
 - Redness of eyes
 - Photophobia
 - Swollen eyes
- Derangement
- Mania
- Unconscious states

Ling Yang Jiao affects the blood level. It enters the liver and the
heart. The cold quality allows it to bring down excess heat
patterns and rising yang. This explains the treatment of headaches,
anger, and elevated blood pressure. The eyes are a single artery
system that is very sensitive to stagnation patterns. By moving
liver blood, this eyes improves heat related blood stasis patterns
of the eye.
The cold quality enters the heart to calm the shen and can treat
patients displaying exaggerated swings in behavior that are manic
in nature.

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Ling Yang Jiao to
patients that present with chronic convulsions due to deficiency
of spleen function
