# Nu Zhen Zi

### Ligustri Lucidi Fructus

_bitter, sweet, cool_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Tonify Yin**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Dizziness
- Visual floaters
- Low back pain
- Tinnitus
- Premature greying of hair
- Loss of vision

Nu Zhen Zi is bitter, sweet, and cool. It enters the liver and
kidney systems to treat deficiency of yin that affects eye function,
hearing, and balance. It is used in longevity medicine to prevent
greying of hair and can lubricate the intestines to treat mild
constipation.

- Age related loss of hearing

- Loss of vision due to aging
- Superficial visual floaters
- Sleep disorders

**Formulas:**
- Er Zhi Wan

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Nu Zhen Zi to patients
that present with diarrhea due to poor digestive function
