# Lai Fu Zi

### Raphani Semen

_acrid, sweet, neutral_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Relieves Food Stagnation**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Food stagnation
- Distention
- Abdominal fullness
- Belching rotten smell
- Acid reflux
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Cough
- Wheeze
- Hypertension

Lai Fu Zi is acrid to break up food stagnation, sweet to nourish,
and neutral in temperature. It enters the stomach, lung, and spleen
systems.

**Channels:** lung, stomach, spleen

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- Stomachache
- GERD
- High blood pressure
- Bronchitis
- Thyroid dysfunction
- IBS

**Formulas:**
- Bao He Wan
- San Zi Yang Qin Tang

**Contraindications:** Lai Fu Zi should not be prescribed to
patients that do not have food stagnation and should only be
given short term
