# Jue Ming Zi

### Cassiae Semen

Jue Ming Zi is bitter, sweet, salty, and slightly cold. It enters the
large intestine, kidney, and liver systems.
Jue Ming Zi has a kidney and liver nourishing effect on yin which
allows it to treat disorders of the eyes and patterns related to the
rising of yang. Its yin nourishing effect can also be seen in the
large intestine system treating dry conditions such as dry stool and
resulting constipation.

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Jue Ming Zi to patients
that present with poor digestive function with concomitant
diarrhea or to patients with low blood pressure
