# Ju Hua

### Chrysanthemi Flos

_bitter, sweet, slightly cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Releases the Exterior for Heat Attacks**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Sores
- Eye disorders
 - Blurry vision
 - Dry eyes
 - Red eyes
 - Visual floaters
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Loss of hearing
- Common cold
- Fever

Ju Hua is bitter, sweet, and slightly cold. It enters the liver and
lung systems. Its liver function supports phase II with helps
circulate blood to the eyes which are a single artery system. This
function also helps with allergies and irritability associated with
liver qi stagnation.

**Formulas:**
- Li Yan Cha
- Ling Jiao Gou Teng Tang
- Long Dan Bi Yuan Fang
- Qi Ju Di Huang Wan
- Sang Ju Yin

**Contraindications:** large doses of Ju Hua should not be
prescribed to patients with yang deficient stomach cold patterns
or related diarrhea or to patients that present with deficiency of
qi in general
