# Hu Lu Ba

### Trigonellae Semen

_bitter, warm_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Tonify Yang**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Hernia
- Distention of flank
- Abdominal pain
- Leg pain and swelling

Hu Lu Ba is bitter and warm and goes to the kidney system. This
helps with lower leg cold edema patterns and cold pattern hernias.

**Channels:** kidney

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- Hernia
- Abdominal distention
- Poor lactation
- Leukorrhea
- Cold limbs
- Pain in the testicles
- Antiparasitic

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Hu Lu Ba to patients
that have damp-heat of heat from deficiency of yin
