# Gui Ban

### Testudinis Plastrum

_sweet, salty, cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Tonify Yin**_

- Ulcers

Gui Ban is sweet, salty, and cold. It enters the heart, liver, and
kidney systems to nourish yin and reduce heat. Gui Ban improves
endocrine function and can be used to treat children that present
with poor bone development or babies that present with fontanels
that have not yet closed.

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Gui Ban to pregnant
patients or to patients that present with patterns in the stomach
of cold-dampness
