# Fu Pen Zi

### Rubi Fructus

_sweet, astringent, neutral_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Stabilize and Bind**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Urogenital system disorders
 - Urinary incontinence
 - Urinary frequency
 - Enuresis
 - Premature ejaculation
 - Nocturnal emissions
- Decline in vision
- Pain
 - Low back
 - Knees

Fu Pen Zi enters the liver which explains the ability to improve
vision. The eyes are a single artery system and very sensitive to
any abnormality in blood flow. The health of the liver supports
both blood qualities (liver blood) and blood flow. It is this same
function that can improve back pain when back pain is due to
liver blood deficiency as liver blood nourishes the tendons and
ligaments of the body. Keeping the blood moving (although this
herb is not considered a blood invigorator) prevents blood
stagnation related back pain.

Fu Pen Zi also supports sex hormone function for patients in a
state of decline or deficiency. It enters the kidney which refers to
the adrenal gland functions and gonadal functions to treat erectile
dysfunction and spermatorrhea. It works on the kidneys directly
when there is a decline of yang function leading to urinary
frequency and enuresis.

**Channels:** liver, kidney
