# Du Huo

### Angelicae Pubescentis Radix

_acrid, bitter, warm_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Eliminate Wind-Dampness**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Pain
 - Legs
 - Low back
 - Headache
 - Toothache

Du Huo enters the kidney and bladder systems to warm up cold
damp patterns and move them out with it acrid and bitter
qualities. It can be used for chronic diseases and it can also be
used for acute diseases.

**Channels:** kidney, bladder

POSSIBILITIES:
- Analgesia
- Anticoagulant
- Anti-inflammatory
- Pruritus
- Arthritis
- Common cold

**Formulas:**
- Da Qin Jiao Tang
- Du Huo Ji Sheng Tang
- Hai Zao Yu Hu Tang
- Qiang Huo Sheng Shi Tang
- Ren Shen Bai Du San
- Shi Wei Bai Du San

**Contraindications:** be careful when prescribing Du Huo to
patients that present with yin deficiency or blood deficiency
patterns as it is drying
