# Dong Gua Zi

### Benincasae Semen

_sweet, cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Drain Dampness**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
Disorders of the lungs
 - Phlegm
 - Yellow
 - Abscess
- Intestinal abscess
- Vaginal discharge

Dong Gui Zi is sweet and cold. It enters the lung, stomach, large
intestine, and small intestine systems to drain out damp-heat
patterns.

**Channels:** lung, stomach, large intestine, small intestine

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- Edema
- Inhibited lactation
- Dysuria
- Urinary tract infections
- Constipation

**Contraindications:** there are no contraindications for Dong
Gua Zi documented
