# Di Gu Pi

### Lycii Cortex

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Clear Deficiency Heat**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Yin deficiency heat patterns
 - Night sweats
 - Bone pain
 - Chronic low grade fever
 - Irascibility
 - Thirst
- Toothache
- Cough
- Wheeze

Di Gu Pi is sweet, bland, and cold. It enters the lung, kidney, and
liver systems to treat heat patterns due to deficiency of yin.

**Channels:** lung, liver, kidney

COMMON APPLICATIONS AND CLINICAL
POSSIBILITIES:
- High blood pressure
- Fever
- Dry cough
- Skin abscess
- Urinary tract infections
- Painful urination

**Formulas:**
- Qing Gu San
- Qing Re Gu Jing Tang
- Xie Bai San
- Yi Yin Jian

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Di Gu Pi to patients that
present with loose stool due to poor digestive function
