# Che Qian Zi

### Plantaginis Semen

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Drain Dampness**_

- Urinary tract disorders

 - Edema
- Diarrhea
- Eye disorders
 - Dry eyes

 - Red painful eyes
 - Photosensitivity
- Cough

Che Qian Zi enters the kidney, liver, bladder, and lung systems. It
is sweet and cold. As a seed it facilitates peristalsis and regulates
the function of the lower gastrointestinal tract.

It enters the liver to nourish liver blood and treat related
pathologies of the eye. Its kidney support also improves eye
function related to decline with age.

Its primary draining function works on the bladder system but
also enters the lung system to drain out phlegm and reduce cough.

**Contraindications:** use Che Qian Zi cautiously when giving
to patients that are pregnant or when giving it to patients that
have a weak constitution due to kidney essence deficiency
