# Cang Er Zi

### Xanthii Fructus

_bitter, sweet, warm, toxic_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Release the Exterior for Cold Attack**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESTATIONS:
- Common cold
 - Nasal congestion
 - Sinus congestion
 - Headache
- Skin disorders
 - Itching

Cang Er Zi is warm, bitter, sweet, and toxic. It enters the lung
system and can be used to treat sinus infections and skin disorders
caused by damp-cold patterns.

POSSIBILITIES:
- Headache
- Sinusitis
- Common cold
- Allergies
- Rash
- Skin disorders

**Formulas:**
- Cang Er Bi Dou Yan Fang
- Cang Er Zi San
- Long Dan Bi Yuan Fang

**Contraindications:** Cang Er Zi should not be taken with pork
and there is a caution regarding prescribing large amounts
