# Bo He

### Menthae Haplocalycis Herba

_acrid, aromatic, cool_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Releases the Exterior for Heat Attacks**_

Bo He is acrid to release the exterior during exterior attacks. It is
aromatic and cool to treat heat patterns and enters the lung and
liver systems.

The effect on the lungs allows Bo He to treat common cold and
cough while the effect on the liver allows it to treat liver qi
stagnation patterns that are common with irregular menstruation.

**Contraindications:** Bo He should not be prescribed to
patients with patterns of liver yang rising or to patients with
weak constitutions experiencing hyperhidrosis
