# Bing Pian

### Borneolum

_acrid, bitter, mildly cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Aromatic Herb that Opens Orifices**_

CLASSICAL MANIFESATIONS:
- Syncope
 - Possibly convulsions
- Disorders of the eyes
 - Visual floaters
 - Redness in the eyes
 - Photophobia
 - Excess lacrimation
- Headache
- Swelling in the throat
- Diseases of the skin
 - Scabies
- Skin sores
 - Itching
 - Mouth sores
- Nodulation

Bing Pian is mildly cold. It is acrid and bitter to open the orifices
and enters the lung, spleen, and heart systems.

Bing Pian can be used topically for skin sores and gargled for sore
throat.

**Channels:** lung, heart, spleen

- Toothache
- Analgesia
- Antimicrobial
 - Sore throat
 - Tonsillitis
- Diseases of the eye
- Canker sores
 - Heat in the heart system
- Disorders of the Skin
 - Sores
 - Bites
 - Traumas
 - Eczema

**Formulas:**
- An Gong Niu Huang Wan
- Liu Shen Wan
- Qi Li San
- Su He Xiang Wan
- Zhi Bao Dan

**Contraindications:** do not prescribe Bing Pian to patients
that have qi and blood deficiency, do not prescribe Bing Pian to
pregnant patients, keep Bing Pian away from heat
