# Bai Wei

### Cynanchi Atrati Radix

_bitter, salty, cold_

#### PRIMARY FUNCTION:

_**Clear Deficiency Heat**_

- Fever
 - Deficiency heat
 - Worse at night
 - Thin rapid pulse
 - Red tongue
- Urinary disorders
 - Painful urination
 - Bloody urination
- Sore throat
 - Deficiency heat pattern
 - Dry
- Snakebites
- Sores

Bai Wei is bitter, salty, and cold to detoxify, dissolve, and treat
heat related patterns caused from deficiency of yin.

It treats fevers from yin deficiency, postpartum fevers, and fevers
in children from summertime heat.

**Channels:** lung, kidney, stomach

- Jia Jian Wei Rui Tang

**Contraindications:** do not combine Bai Wei with Huang Qi,
Da Huang, Da Ji, Gan Jiang, Da Zao, or Shan Zhu Yu
