Kidney yang, in Oriental Medicine, largely refers to hormone
production from the adrenal glands and the gonads. It is used for
patients with conditions such as infertility (male or female),
erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, and irregular menstrual
patterns.

Its sweet characteristic makes it tonifying. As a result of
improving hormone production, this herb also strengthens
tendons, ligaments, and improves bone remodeling.

Ba Ji Tian is acrid which gives it a scattering or moving quality. It
circulates blood in the low back driving out spasms and tension
for patients suffering low back pain, especially when the pain is
from a cold pattern as this herb has a warm quality.
